Cuco's is one of my favorite Mexican places in the world. I live in Pensacola. We used to have a Cucos location there about 20 years ago. Every time I drive through Montgomery, a stop at Cuco's is a must. The chips and salsa are excellent. We order the beef nachos as an appetizer. I highly recommend them. My favorite entree is the Los Alamos. This includes 3 enchiladas with rice and beans. I request all 3 to be cheese and onion enchiladas, however, it normally comes with beef, chicken, and cheese. Cuco's is Mexican food with a unique flavor. Give it a try. Terrific flavor and a nice atmosphere. It's a little out in the middle of nowhere but the 1 mile drive south on exit 11 off of Interstate 85 is well worth it!

    - 2.5 Stars To Be Exact - Restaurant Was Relatively Clean (Except The Clearly Wet Seat At The Booth I Was Seated At Before I Asked The Hostess To Dry It Off) - Love The Tortilla Chips .. Light, Salty, & Fresh - Salsa Was Obviously Store-Bought Salsa (Bumm

Service at this location isn't ideal. Food decent, but order to go.

Food was okay but service sucked and the beer was warm. The waitress forgot items, and in addition I was never offered a refill. I would not come here again.

While the restaurant is clean and the lunch plates cheap the food is mediocre. I ordered the choriqueso (cheese dip with chorizo) and the steak quesadilla. The dip is made with velvetta instead of the normal white cheese I get and was ok. The chips were really good though! The steak quesadilla was tiny and bland. The best part of the meal was the frozen margarita mixed with sangria! I won't come back.

Cucos has been my favorite Mexican restaurant for over 20 years. Chips and salsa are always fantastic!! I get the Burrito with a side of the brown sauce every time I go. Each time it seems to get better and better.

Dont waste your time.. I could have made my dish in the microwave and had better luck.. Staff just sits at bar and watch tv.. Place was empty and I was hoping it was due to odd location.. Not the case..

Ok, so... Here's the thing. I can be a lttle picky with Mexican food because I cook it myself and I have my personal preferences, but I'm going to tell You anyways; The chips have a good flavor, a little too thin for my taste though. Salsa is ok. I ordered Beef and Cheese Enchiladas with Black Beans. The cheese really gets me here because its like the one you buy at the grocery store that comes finely shredded and pre-packaged, so...no. Also, although enchiladas are normally more greasy due to the tortilla being fried in oil, there was an unnecessary amount of grease here. The black beans were really good ;). I will give them that. Our waitress was nothing fun. But there was another waitress there that semmed pretty friendly. I would come back here to try their margaritas too because they look pretty good on Yelp pics. I'll stick to making my own enchiladas at home though. Or Jalapeños Restaurant enchiladas, those are good.

Great mexican food. The black beans are amazing. You could order 3 and make a meal of of them! So good. I had the chicken fajita lunch special I'm a big girl and it filled me up BIG time!

Stop here every time in Montgomery- Best Mexican food around- wish we had one in Mobile. Chips always so fresh and thin. Decor and beautiful inside with a great - fun outside area with A/C and TV's. The food can not be better...See photos- love the way they place the rice and black beans in the crunchy bowls. Great Value and friendly service. My mouth is watering now as I type this - Can't wait to travel that way again.

Great place, a bit different from the the typically Montgomery Mexican restaurant. Higher quality ingredients, white corns chips, great drinks. Could use a upgrade in service, but overall not bad. I recommend. By far the best chips and salsa!

We decided to try this place out one night late when we were in the area.... we read some reviews but we felt somewhat cautious... we got there, the place was empty, so I immediately was leary. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa was pretty good. I ordered a margarita, which was the regular and it was awful! I pretty much thought it was going to be a disappointment through and through... and then our food came. Things were flavorful, FRESH, and well excecuted. This isn't "cheap mexican" or "greasy mexican", but it was simple and fresh. I ordered the "half fajitas" and was blown away with the portion. The second margarita I ordered was a bit stronger... but the food was good enough to make up for the watered down drink, and the service was spot on quick and our food came up quick and hot... no wonder the place was empty, they had this down to a science! Yum!

We have been here before and had a pleasant experience, but this time the food was disgusting. I got a chicken\beef burrito and the chicken part wasn't very good, but the beef part was not edible and had a very nasty taste . The chips were good and the service was fine, but the food tasted like TV dinner Mexican food.

This place is easy to miss if you don't drive past Wal-Mart and Home Depot. The dinner crowds are definitely present here, and they do a good job in delivering fresh and well-prepared mexican dishes. Patio dining, full service bar are available. Table seats can be uncomfortable for some, but there are booths available. Lunch menu has a great value; highly recommended.

Okay, here's the sitch. My group and I came here on Cinco De Mayo, we expected the place to be busy and it was - but that is no excuse for the service we received. My group and I travel 10 months out of the year and eat almost every meal out. We are very familiar with restaurants and how they operate. That being said, this establishment knew what day it was and should of staffed the restaurant better. We waited for our seat, no biggie. We were greeted at our table promptly and placed our order - 4 margaritas and 3 nonalcoholic drinks. It took over 20 minutes for the margaritas to arrive. Our food arrived 35 minutes after we ordered. Well, most of our food arrived. One of us ordered chicken fajitas - something they claim they are famous for. The fajitas arrived 5 minutes after the rest of our food arrived. They were delivered by a woman who, I swear, slid them onto the table as she flew by without slowing down. The fajitas were not delivered with the usual tortillas and dressings. By the time we could get someone's attention the chicken was cold and we no longer wanted it. They still brought us more - which we didn't eat. Sooooo... Our final judgement here is "poor". The service was pretty terrible. The food was mediocre, at best. The margaritas are obviously a Pre-mix and therefore, pretty generic and heart burn inducing. We won't be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
